*Meet Megs

If I could use one word to describe myself it would have to be: creative. And I'm pretty positive that all the people who know me would say the same.

My Road to Photography
Since I was little, I have been creating things. I remember how much fun I had during art time in elementary school. I especially loved drawing, It wasn't long before I realized how much I love the visual arts and decided that I had a passion for it (check out my artwork). It just so happens that photography is right up that alley!

My real interest in photography began in high school. With a knack for creativity, I decided to take a shot at a photography class and that was the end of it. I then got a job at Inkley's/Ritz Camera. I worked as a camera salesperson, and helped in the developing lab. Most everything was done from film then.

When I moved to go to college, I decided to venture out on my own and advertise my work as a photographer. I shot my first wedding at age nineteen. I mostly did weddings and engagements--anyone who has lived in Rexburg, Idaho would know why. I took photography classes and got permission to use the dark room at the college for my work. I loved learning as I went. Film made it possible for me to have to get it right the first time. As I went to school, I continued to do my photography. Then as my twenty first birthday approached and six months before my (boy)friend got back from an LDS mission in California, I decided to go on a mission too. I was called to Texas for eighteen months, and I even got to shoot a wedding as a service while I was out there.

When I returned, I followed the handsome guy that I didn't see for 3 years down to St. George, Utah. Shortly after I got back and right before my husband and I got married, we purchased a Nikon digital SLR. This opened up the world to the many possibilities of moving my photography forward. My husband graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Technologies and helped pave the way for my introduction to the digital world.

I still reside in St. George, have graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Art and English, and became a full time employee of the cutest little boy in the world, Tucker. I continue to use my creativity as I paint and photograph, and I couldn't be happier!
